A few months ago, we, SMB Records Management, received an award for our recycling efforts.
We have worked hard on building services with new and existing customers since we started in 2019.
This does not apply just to the secure storage service we provide, we have also pushed hard to grow the confidential shredding/recycling service. Throughout 2021 SMB managed to shred over 148 tones of paper (This is the equivalent of saving 2,516 trees) We are also gaining numerous customers across London and the southeast.
We recycled 40 tones of cardboard, which we intend to increase this year.
We recycled over 30 tones of metalwork and stopped it from going to landfills, making sure all components are put back into the system for reuse.
We donated 1.5 tonnes of clothing. Donating the clothes to Friends of Wisdom Hospice. This gave them a great injection of cash, one of the largest donations they had received.
Due to our efforts, we attended the Zero waste Awards in London hosted by Letsrecycle. Those also supporting the scheme was Powerday, Reconomy, Bywaters and Wastepack.
We managed to obtain a 3-star award, but the competition was tuff, with some brilliant ideas being put forward. These ranged from cigarette butts collection schemes to keep the streets tidy, to clothing being made from pineapple leaves.
It was pretty amazing to meet everyone at the ceremony.
We are also pleased to be recognised for our efforts. We will continue to help the environment with the confidential shredding and recycling service.

Large projects or small, we can help with them all.
